About a dozen-and-a-half scouts and adults from Arlington Troops 306 and 313 replaced a deteriorated section of boardwalk at Arlington’s Great Meadows on October 24. This section had been installed over twenty years ago over a moist area and was in bad shape. We had great weather for this work as the photos show.
The general opinion was that the most fun part was taking apart the old sections which involved a bunch of digging and banging and ripping. It was then piled up for hauling away and disposal.

The new section of forty feet was able to make use of some salvaged materials as well as new. As we were working many people came through the work area including a running group of about twenty people. The newly finished section provides a much better path for everyone.

A small crew also made some repairs in the nearby Lily Pond boardwalk.
Many thanks to Troops 306 and 313 and everyone else who worked on this project.
